PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato today announced that the holiday tree in the Courthouse Courtyard will once again be transformed into the “Terrible Tree” in honor of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ return to the playoffs.
“We’re proud to bring back the Terrible Tree to help rally the Steelers through another successful playoff run,” said Onorato. “This is a great opportunity for fans to come together and build momentum and support for our team.”
Fans are encouraged to contribute black and gold decorations and Steelers paraphernalia to adorn the 20-foot tree. Donations will be accepted daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the guard station in the courtyard of the County Courthouse at 436 Grant Street in Downtown Pittsburgh, as well as the Boyce, Hartwood, North, Round Hill, South and White Oak park offices.
The Terrible Tree was first created during the Steelers’ successful Super Bowl XL run in 2006.
