Contractors Institute

Purpose

Allegheny County Department of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, founded the Construction Contractor Institute in 2011.  The purpose of creating this program is to provide business development skills and raise the level of technology to certified firms in the construction industry cluster.  Because the construction industry can be volatile at times, businesses that are not current in business process and technological advances will not tend to succeed.

This Institute provides eight weeks of classroom support and 24 months of case management.  The case management will include business roundtables with industry experts, technology workshops, business coaching and learning effective marketing and networking for this industry.
