The Communications Division informs the public of county government news and strives to improve the public's understanding of county government. The office serves as a liaison with the news media and performs various public relations activities for the County Executive and county departments.
Responsibilities of the Communications Division include:
- Informing the public of news and events relating to county government through news releases, news conferences and media inquiries.
- Coordinating, planning and implementing special events at the request of the County Executive or county departments.
- Designing and drafting professional documents in support of the County Executive's efforts to promote the goals of the county.
- Drafting proclamations in support of the County Executive's efforts to recognize outstanding citizens and organizations.
- Serving as county government's direct liaison with the public in providing information on county government through presentations, lectures, reports, brochures and library of public information files.
